World

The world is built in the same way as Disk World. Though the Sun is actually programmed to turn on and off each day. This ignition and extinguishing process takes around half an hour.

Calendar

The main calender is the that of the Kingdom of Ye. This has four quarters. Each quarter is 99 days long. Within each quarter are eleven weeks of nine days. People typically work for the whole year except for holidays. There are four special holidays. These occur at the start of each month.

Within the Kingdom of Ye, year zero is the year of formation of the current dynasty. Every time a new dynasty if formed, the years restart. Hence it is important to know the dynasty as well as the year.

New Year celebrates the start of a new year.

The emperor's birthday celebrates the birthdays of the current and past emperors.

Mid Year Holiday celebrates the mid point of the year.

Creation Day celebrates the creation of all life. It is in effect a birthday for everyone except the Emperor.

Local Calendars

Each kingdom may follow the calender of Ye or may have it's own. Typically each kingdom has its own set of years, but follows the calendar of Ye in all other respects.

Economy

This is a typical medieval economy. The presence of magic over the economy is strong.

Within the central plain of the Ye empire, localities specialise heavily and are completely dependant on trade for economic survival. Outside of this most communities are self sufficient for the basics, only trading for additional profits to allow the import of goods that are not made locally.

Weather and Seasons

Days are twenty four hours long. As the sun does not vary in distance, there are no seasons in this world. Though there are in some places periodic changes caused by climatic fluctuations. They never have the same regularity as the seasons on Earth.
